Stone Sheep are the most highly prized trophy hunts offered by Stone Mountain Safaris. This area is known for heavy based rams, up to record book quality. We provide a 90% opportunity to harvest a ram; however, your success is dependent upon your physical condition and your shooting abilities.

Our sheep-only hunts start August 1st. On our second hunt starting August 15th, you may add caribou, moose, or elk. September offers you the Serengeti hunt of North America, where in all species are available on a trophy fee basis. On our last sheep hunt, beginning October 1st, you can add goat, moose, and wolf.   See our Price List.

Our area has a very healthy Grizzly Bear population. We offer a great 14 day spring hunt with black bear and wolf included. On our fall hunts you may want to add moose, elk, or caribou to this hunt on a trophy fee basis. Black bear and wolf are included.

We offer fall hunts in combination with other species. Black bears are on trophy fee only. They are not plentiful, but they are around.

Rocky Mountain Elk

We can provide you with an exceptional, natural wilderness elk hunt. Besides having an 80 - 90% opportunity for 6 point bulls, you will also see a great variety of other wildlife species. Hunting elk is best during the month of September which is also their rutting season. You may wish to add moose or caribou to your hunt on a trophy fee basis. Black bear and wolf are included.   10 day hunts.

We have a plentiful Canada moose population in our area with spreads averaging between 46 - 60 inches and some racks making the record book. These high quality moose hunts are best between September 1st and October 15th. Top up this hunt with a caribou, black bear or wolf tag.   10 day hunts

Due to our limited caribou herds, we only offer caribou on a trophy fee basis on any of our other hunt combinations. Caribou are available from August 20th to September 30th

We are proud of our near 100% success rate on our goat hunts. We can take 4 goat hunters in September, who can also add caribou, black bear, and wolf to this hunt. In early October 2 hunters can hunt for goat, moose, black bear, and wolf. We also offer a goat to some of our sheep hunts in September and early October as an add-on for a trophy fee only.   10 day hunt   See our Price List.

Lynx

We take 4 lynx hunts per year, starting November 15 - December 22. Hunting will take place on snowmobile while pursuing a fresh track. Then the hounds are let loose, and the work begins.   7 day hunt   Make sure to bring extra warm clothing for temperatures as low as -25C (-7F ). This includes good winter clothing, wool socks, and ski goggles.   See our Price List.
